Policy Statement
Northwest Basketball Partnership is committed to promoting equality, celebrating diversity, and ensuring inclusion in all areas of our work. We believe that everyone should have fair access to the opportunities we provide, regardless of their background or circumstances. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect.
We recognise the importance of removing barriers to participation and of actively challenging discrimination, inequality, and exclusion wherever they occur.
Our Legal Responsibilities
This policy is underpinned by the following UK legislation:

- Public Sector Equality Duty (where applicable to partnerships with public bodies)

Our Commitments
We will ensure all of our activities, sessions and communications are inclusive and accessible.Provide equal opportunities for involvement in basketball regardless of background, identity or ability.
- Actively work to remove barriers to participation, including financial, physical, and cultural barriers.
- Promote a culture of respect, empathy and openness in all of our interactions.
- Take all allegations or reports of discrimination, harassment or bullying seriously and respond promptly.
- Provide training and guidance to staff, volunteers, and partners to promote inclusive practice.
Working with Others
We expect all clubs, coaches, volunteers, participants and partner organisations involved in our activities to uphold these values and comply with this policy. We will not tolerate any behaviour or language that undermines our commitment to inclusion.
Where incidents of discrimination or exclusion occur, we will take appropriate action in line with our code of conduct and safeguarding procedures.
Monitoring and Review
This policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if there are changes to legislation or our organisational structure. We will monitor the reach and impact of our activities to ensure we are fulfilling our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice.
